JEE Advanced 2024 will be held online by IIT Madras. The exam is scheduled for May 26. Indian students can start registering from April 21, 2024, while foreign nationals can begin on April 15. JEE Advanced 2024 Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for JEE Advanced 2024 and secure admission to IITs, candidates need to meet certain criteria. Check your eligibility grades to know how many points you require in your class 12 exam.

  • For General and OBC candidates, a minimum of 75% is required in the class 12 exam, while for SC/ST candidates, the minimum is 65%.
  • Candidates should be in the top 20% of their category based on the qualifying exam scores.
  • Aggregate marks should include scores in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Language, and one more subject.
  • Those who completed the 10+2 exam in 2023 or 2024 with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as required subjects are eligible.
  • If the 2023-24 academic year results are released after October 25, 2024, candidates from that board who took the 12th exam in 2024 are eligible, provided they meet other criteria. However, if the results for the academic year 2023-2024 are declared by the class 12 examination board before October 25, 2024, but an applicant’s result is delayed, they won’t be able to participate in JEE Advanced 2024.

Exam Pattern

The question paper pattern, marking scheme, time, etc details of the JEE Advanced 2024 exam below:

  • Mode of the exam: The examination will be conducted ONLY in the Computer Based Test (CBT) mode.
  • Number of papers: The examination consists of two papers (Paper 1 and Paper 2) of three hours duration each. Appearing in both the papers is compulsory. The examination schedule is as follows.

JEE Advanced 2024 Counselling – JoSAA

Admissions to seats in IITs, NITs, IIITs, and other Government Funded Technical Institutes (GFTIs) will be managed collectively through an online process conducted by the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) for the ongoing academic year. Only those candidates who have achieved a rank in JEE (Advanced) 2024 are qualified to take part in this joint seat allocation procedure.

JoSAA exclusively operates online. All eligible candidates seeking admission must actively engage in the joint seat allocation process by indicating their preferred choices of courses and institutes.
